  • 1a) I have very high expectations for you!

    1b) It is interesting, because Flood is in a lot of ways a single generation church. I guess it depends on how much of a representation you need from a generation to count (3 - 12 - 120??). What is intriguing as a result of this, is that because I'm on the ancient side of the cusp of the generation (Old Man Jones), I feel forced into leadership. I don't mean that in a negative (and I'm probably just a leader anyway - leader in humility), I think that is a great benefit.

    Dangit, I just realized I totally lost my train of thought mid comment. This is pretty sad. What does it mean to be released to follow Jesus without reservation? I think originally I thought he said to lead w/o reservation, hence my leadership diatribe.
  • When Joe Lee asks "Do we feel released to follow Jesus without reservation" I believe he is touching the idea where someone who has authority over us, i.e. parents, pastors, mentors, and friends have seen the individual gifts that God has blessed us with and have given us the reigns of our own lives to run hard after God without any other side expectations like, making a lot of money, getting to a certain position of authority, getting a particular job, etc. Its like when a leader says to his disciple, I believe you can take over for me where I left off and do it a lot better.
  • Ahh... sense++
