This quote won me over to the Dallas Willard fan club singlehandedly. I love the idea that prayer is sharing power with God. So often pray is maligned as either ineffective (God's plan was set in stone from day one) or cajoling God (In the vein of God as Santa), but this shows that God wants us to have His power. How amazing! Yes, it is still His, because we could not handle it, but to think that even if Jesus had not died for us (please excuse the heresy for a second), God would be the only deity (more heresy, I know there is only One true deity) who actively seeks to share power with His creation. Three cheers for God!
